a fan favorite cookie perfect for all seasons, no raisins allowed.
inspired by the classic Nestle Toll House back of the bag recipe.
what you will need:
- a large mixing bowl
- mixing spoon
- dry measuring cups
- standard baking sheet
ingredients
- 2 cups of all purpose flour
- 1 teaspoon of baking soda
- 1/2 teaspoon of cinnamon
- 2 sticks of butter, at room temperature
- 1 1/4 cups of dark brown sugar
- 1/2 cup of granulated white sugar
- 2 eggs
- 2 teaspoons of vanilla extract
- 1 tablespoon of water
- 2 1/2 cups of old-fashioned rolled oats
- 1 cup of semi sweet chocolate chips
- 1 cup of dark chocolate chunks
instructions
- cream the butter, brown sugar, and white sugar until light and fluffy, about 3 minutes. add the eggs one at a time, followed by the vanilla extract and water.
- add in the flour, baking soda, and cinnamon. stir until partially combined.
- add the oats and both chocolate chips (you can use all one type of chip if that is your preference or what you have on hand). stir until combined.
- let dough rest in the refrigerator for at least 2 hours.
- preheat the oven to 350 degrees.
- scoop the dough into tablespoon sized balls. arrange on a greased baking sheet 2 inches apart.
- bake for 12-14 minutes. cool (a little or a lot) and enjoy 🙂
